Ministry : Room In The Inn

This ecumenical ministry provides lodging and meals to the homeless on Monday nights at the nearby Advent Lutheran Church, from December through March each year. We partner with University Hills Baptist Church and Advent Lutheran Church in this ministry, which is coordinated by Urban Ministries.

Q. What does a volunteer do for the Ministry?

A. Volunteers can serve in several different capacities. Greeters are needed to set up the cots, linens, and tables for the guests. Greeters also welcome the guests and make them feel comfortable. Other volunteers prepare "Pillow Treats," while others prepare and serve meals. One person is needed to spend the night at Advent Luteran. Drivers are needed to transport individuals to and from the Urban Ministry Center on Tryon.
