We would like to ask all our parishioners to please focus their tithe
for the remainder of the year on the following three funds:

While we are forever grateful for all you have given and the care you have for our parish, we feel that these three funds would help the parish the most at this time.
Of course, this would be in addition to the regularly scheduled

Surveys show that a large percentage of Catholics don't truly believe in the Real Presence of Jesus Christ our God in the Eucharist...

If you believe, please come to the Eucharistic Congress, and publicly witness to your faith!

Why does the Charlotte Diocese have so many vocations to the priesthood, and so many seminarians? Perhaps the graces flowing from the Eucharistic Congress have something to do with it...

Sunday Mass is the bare minimum the Church asks of us. Take a step beyond this, and come to the Eucharistic Congress.

As your new bishop, I have experienced many firsts over the past two months – so many unexpected blessings. You may know that our diocese hosts an annual Eucharistic Congress – an event that brings us all together to renew our faith and empower us to go out and share the Good News. Maybe you have never considered going, or you went once years ago, or you just think this might not be your thing. Might you be willing to experience it with me anew (even if you go every year) for what I know will be an unexpected blessing?

Please join me Aug. 30-31 at the Eucharistic Congress to reconnect with what truly matters: Jesus and His Church. Come for all or some of the festivities to unite with me and thousands of fellow Catholics from across our diocese.

The event kicks off Friday night with a praise-and-worship concert and a special reception where I look forward to meeting all of you.

This year’s event also includes:

A concert by Dove Award-nominated Sarah Kroger
The premiere of a powerful movie about St. Maximilian Kolbe, “Triumph of the Heart”
One of the largest Eucharistic processions in the U.S. – 10,000 people walking with Jesus through Uptown Charlotte
Adoration, worship and reconciliation
Fellowship with a diverse community of Catholics
Unique Catholic artwork and merchandise

Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Friday at the Charlotte Convention Center. Drop in for an hour or come both days – it’s free and flexible.

Being Catholic:
more than Sunday Mass

If we were all where we needed to be already, one Holy Mass would be sufficient to make us Saints and get us to Heaven. There is no lack in Jesus Christ in Holy Communion; in His one sacrifice for our salvation. The lack is in us. G.K. Chesterton famously, and correctly, said "I don’t need a church to tell me I’m wrong where I already know I’m wrong; I need a Church to tell me I’m wrong where I think I’m right." We need Sunday Mass, but we need so much more. Confession, Eucharistic Adoration, Fellowship & Accountability with other Catholics, Scripture Study, the Lives of the Saints, Ongoing Study of the Teachings of the Faith, Service to our Neighbor, and Deep Prayer.

Do your best to plug into more than Mass. We have lots of different things happening here at the parish. We hope to see you at some of it!

4th Annual Mary Days: Thursday, August 15 - Thursday, August 22, 2024, we have eight priests from around the Diocese and beyond here each night to celebrate Holy Mass and preach on Our Lady! Holy Mass begins each evening at 7 p.m. All are invited to this wonderful annual series of Masses celebrating Our Lady!

Are You Striving for Sainthood?

This examination is adapted from the official questionnaire that is used when the Church is investigating the worthiness for beatification and canonization of Catholics. They are the questions that are asked of the witnesses who knew the person in question when they were alive. It is a truly great examination of how we are doing, and what type of goals we can set in order to truly live our Catholic faith. Are we striving to be saints? There are only saints in Heaven.
