Ryan Beckett Squires Circle #5322

-of Knights of Columbus Council #10505

The Squires is the official youth organization of the Knights of Columbus. Brother Barnabas McDonald founded The Squires in 1925 for young Catholic men between the ages of 10 and 18. There are over 25,000 members in over 1,500 Circles throughout the US, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, the Philippines, and Guam. Brother Barnabas founded the Squires to "give a young man the greatest possible help in making himself the sort of Christian citizen he wishes to become and we so urgently need." Basically, this means that the Squires help young men become more mature, responsible, and self-confident by coordinating and participating in a wide variety of service, social, spiritual, and family activities. Squires plan, organize, and run activities in 4 major areas: Spiritual, Service, Circle, and Membership. Knowing that they have other activities (school, sports, jobs, and dates!), they do what they can, when they can, AND HAVE FUN DOING IT! Also, Squires have the benefit of an international organization to assist them in planning activities. Adult lay "Counselors" from the Knights of Columbus provide support and advice. If you are interested in joining the Columbian Squires, sponsored by the STA Knights of Columbus Council, please contact Robert J Hinchey by email thehincheys@bellsouth.net.
